Market Watch

As we approach the first week of May the weather outside is getting warmer, but we are still in the midst of volatile market conditions. Inflation continues to be of concern, with Canadian inflation hitting 6.7% in March, which is the highest in over 30 years. As a result, we have seen the Bank of Canada hint at a 0.75% rate increase in the coming weeks, which would bring the overnight lending rate back to pre-pandemic levels.

We continue to see tensions in Europe with the war in Ukraine, and no immediate end in sight. Uncertain of what Russia will do next, is keeping many still on edge. Lastly, China has entered into new lockdown measures to fight the spread of newer COVID-19 variants. There are fears that this will again continue to hurt the supply chain of many goods travelling overseas.

Despite the recent selloff this past week due to these concerns, they do appear to be short term in nature, and with first quarter earnings reports coming in, we could see the market rebound on favourable news.

Financial Planning
Do you spend more time planning your vacation then planning your financial future?

Personal financial planning focuses on you as an individual and combines all the financial and psychological factors that impact your life.

A well-designed financial plan will help you reach your financial goals and objectives and give you a greater sense of security.
  1. Clarify your present situation by collecting and assessing all relevant financial data – assets and liabilities, tax returns, records of securities transactions, insurance policies, wills and pension plans.
  2. Identify financial and personal goals and objectives, and also to clarify your financial and personal values and attitudes.
  3. Identify financial problems that can create barriers to your financial independence.
  4. Provides you with written recommendations and alternative solutions. These should be structured to meet your needs without undue emphasis on purchasing specific products.
  5. Assists you to implement the right strategy to ensure that you reach your goals and objectives.
  6. Provides a review and revisions of your plan to ensure that you achieve your goals whether it be five, ten, or twenty years.

Things to Ponder

Like a parent, a financial advisor encourages you to start planning as soon as you can.

Like a mentor, a financial advisor helps you set measurable goals.

Like an experienced coach, a financial advisor gives professional advice based on your needs.

New Hamburg
Mennonite Relief Sale

May 27-28th

RUN FOR RELIEF
275 Jacob St, New Hamburg, ON

Once again, KLT is proud to sponsor the Run for Relief

For the third year, the NHMRS Run for Relief will be a distributed event.

Last year, you rose to the challenge and raised a record amount through Run for Relief for MCC. We had runners, walkers, bikers, bird watchers, and more ... each doing their own activities and raising money in support of Mennonite Central Committee as they offer relief to the world’s most vulnerable people at this critical time.

So this year we're again asking you to Run it Your Way ... however you choose to participate, you can set up a fundraising page and have donors support your efforts.

New this year, all participants are invited to gather on Saturday morning at the New Hamburg Relief Sale at 9:00 AM to celebrate everyone's participation, pick up your Run for Relief hat, and walk a "Victory Lap" together around the Fairgrounds!

Come visit us at the tent on-site on Saturday Morning.
Maybe even join us for a lap around the track.
